The Ministry of Public Utilities is responsible for the delivery of efficient, affordable and quality utilities services across Trinidad and Tobago. The availability and reliability of basic amenities such as water and electricity have a direct impact on the quality of life of the people of Trinidad and Tobago. The objective is to ensure that the infrastructure necessary for officials of the Ministry is in place and that there is adequate space to accommodate staff.
No. 2 Victoria Avenue, Port of Spain, the site of the original Government Printery Building, has been cleared to make way for new, state-of-the-art offices for the Ministry of Public Utilities. The new eight-storey building complex will house the head office of the ministry of Public Utilities, while paying homage to historical elements and equipment from the Government Printery in an on- site museum within the same building.
It will also feature a car park, gym, homework and conference rooms in an ergonomic design which will incorporate natural light and ventilation, landscaped grounds, and appropriate electrical and water supply systems.
