Completed in March 2007 and handed over to the Office of the Prime Minister for occupation in August 2008, the building was designed to reflect the modernisation, adaptability and efficiency associated with the second highest office of the Government.
The industrial theme incorporates the extensive use of stainless steel, aluminium and glass. The structure includes features that meet the unique requirements of the Prime’s Minister’s staff including basement car park for ease of access, modern networking and cabling to support state of the art technology, passenger and service elevators and advanced fire detection and security systems.
The building also features ecologically friendly elements such as a chilled water type cooling system allowing for more efficient and cost effective air-conditioning, as well as facilities to support the office’s public relations mandate including modern media briefing rooms which utilize technologically advanced audio visual equipment.
