Mahaica Sports Complex

The Mahaica Oval was once the epicenter for sporting excellence not only in south Trinidad but nationwide. Our Sports history shows that many of the nation’s top athletes would have trained and been discovered right in the Borough of Point Fortin, so the construction of the new Mahaica Sports Complex was eagerly anticipated.

UDeCOTT was mandated to construct the Mahaica Sports Complex by the Ministry of Sport and Community Development and the facility was handed over in October 2022. The new main pavilion has a seating capacity of approximately 1,791 persons and 3 levels serviced by an elevator and external staircases.

The Ground Floor features:

• 2 Change Rooms/Locker Rooms
• 2 Public Washrooms
• Electrical Rooms
• Administration Room
• Storage Rooms
• Physio /Sickbay Room
• First Aid Room
• Generator Room

The First Floor/Mezzanine Level features:

• 2 Meeting Rooms
• Facility Manager Office
• Assistant Manager Office
• Reception Area
• First Aid Room
• Storage Rooms
• 8 Concession Booths
• 2 Electrical Rooms
• 2 Public Washrooms

The Second Floor/Lower Tier Level features:

• Media centre
• VIP Lounge (approximately 40 persons)
• Washroom
• Kitchen
• Electrical Room

External Works included the Waste Water Treatment Plant, roads, 77 Parking Spaces and drainage.
