The Government of Trinidad and Tobago through the Ministry of National Security has mandated that UDeCOTT execute the Construction and Outfitting of fifteen (15) modern Fire Stations with all of the requirements that are necessary to achieve the facilities functional programme of curbing and managing fires and other disasters.
The design of all Fire Stations is standard and consists of a three (3) storey concrete reinforced buildings fully air-conditioned with wired glass windows throughout and carbon monoxide monitors. A special dry room to store fire kits, appliances room, annexes housing a fuel station, generator room, switch room, small gear storage and repair room, rescue equipment storage room.
The annex is proposed to accommodate small gear equipment storage, hose storage, foam concentrate storage, generator, switchgear room kiosk, laundry room, oil and grease storage room, mobile burn unit in close proximity to the decontamination room, breathing apparatus storage, repair and refilling room, janitorial service. The Drill Tower consists of a three (3) storey concrete structure with actual windows and an internal doglegged stairway.
