The safety and well-being of the people of Trinidad and Tobago are the driving force behind UDeCOTT’s development projects. As the nation’s network of roads and highways expand and become more complex, UDeCOTT is compelled to ensure that the freedom of movement of the pedestrian population is not compromised by threats to their safety. High traffic areas have the potential to be extremely dangerous if the relevant facilities are not put in place at the key points where foot traffic and vehicular traffic intersect.
To achieve those aims UDeCOTT completed the Pedestrian Overpass in Port of Spain . The Pedestrian Overpass will link the two sides of major roadways to allow easier access for pedestrians attempting to travel from one side to the other. Pedestrians will be able to cross safely without disrupting the traffic flow and risking accidents. The overpasses will also be equipped with protective guard rails signage and other safety features.
The Pedestrian Overpass at Wrightson Road, Port of Spain was completed.
