UDeCOTT’s 2024 JAVA Internship

In recognition of International Youth Day 2024, the Corporation would like to highlight the 2024 JAVA Intern Cohort. Today, the Corporation joins the rest of the world in celebrating the youth in our society and the pivotal role that youth play in continuing a society that is all-inclusive, successful and sustainable. Our 2024 JAVA Cohort has been engaged in a series of activities that will  hone key fundamental, foundational principles of self and professional development for the world of work and by extension garnering invaluable life experience.

On Friday 9^th August, 2024 they Volunteered for a CSR Initiative whereby they assisted the San Juan Boys and Girls Government Primary School with their re-painting and refurbishing efforts for the upcoming school term in September. 

They performed admirably and were able to paint 12 classrooms, assisted with re-stacking the Library, sanded and painted 20 feet of railings and painted 20 infant tables.

The 5 Team Leaders stepped into their leadership roles, rallying their groups to complete the tasks at hand with many of the Interns bringing the tools needed for the works that were to be done.

The Principals expressed great admiration for the manner in which the Cohort carried themselves and represented UDeCOTT.  The teachers also conveyed their gratitude.

They have also been partakers in the annual Professional Development Series of Training Programmes.

These have included thus far:

• Preparing for and mastering the employment interview & Key employable skills for the young professional;

• Wise financial decisions for young and aspiring professionals –

  • Goal Setting young professionals

  • Saving options
  • Types of Investment products- Stocks, Bonds & Mutual Funds
  • Preparing for Retirement
