The community of Moriah is well known for its trademark event “the Moriah Ole Time Wedding” during the Tobago Heritage Festival and it attracts hundreds of spectators each year.
In spite of its popularity, the northern coastal village has relied heavily on a small health centre for preventative health care and emergency medical treatment. UDeCOTT is committed to ensuring that the facilities necessary to provide best-in-class medical care are available to all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
The proposed Moriah Health Centre will be equipped to accommodate a pharmacy, nurses’ section, examination rooms, dental offices, medical offices and a general waiting area for the people of Moriah. The 12,000 sq. ft. single-storey reinforced building will also offer adequate parking and landscaped grounds for staff, as well as patients and their relatives.
