A mainstay of the food tourism for which Trinidad and Tobago is increasingly recognised, the fare served at the Breakfast Shed has been central to the downtown Port of Spain menu for several years. Frequented by visitors, downtown workers and connoisseurs of local cuisine, the waterfront building was on the verge of dilapidation before the UDeCOTT intervention that gave rise to the New Breakfast Shed in 2006.
The modern, streamlined structure and improved amenities have enabled the establishment’s concessionaries to operate at the highest levels of cleanliness and allowed patrons on-site dining in a spacious, clean setting. The facility upgrade has allowed the Femmes Du Chalet to continue its tradition as one of the “hot spots” of local cuisine in the capital city of Port of Spain, much to the delight of its clientele.
