The Penal Hospital

The Penal Hospital will function as a community hospital for the area, providing services in medicine, surgery, obstetrics, and psychiatry as well as associated outpatient services. The facility will also feature a 24/7 Emergency Department and a full spectrum of diagnostic services.

The new 150-bed facility will offer inpatient and outpatient care with a focus on chronic disease management including Renal Disease, Diabetes, Cardiac and Respiratory Disease, Post-stroke Care, Focused Rehabilitation and Geriatrics.

UDeCOTT will also construct and outfit buildings to house the administrative and ambulatory services offered by the hospital, as well as specialised units including cardio-respiratory services, psychiatric services, diagnostic imaging services and a birthing unit.
