The Government Plaza (GP) is open plan design envisioned to facilitate pedestrian access to four major Ministries with an adjacent multi-story car park facility referred to as the Government Plaza Parkade. The Plaza will grant the public unimpeded access to the several Government Ministries. Located on Richmond Street and Wrightson road, the GP has changed the skyline of Port of Spain and, when completed, will also feature aesthetically pleasing landscaping.
It is easily accessible by both public and private transportation and within walking distance from several other Government Ministries and businesses. Four Government Ministries, with offices that had formerly been scattered across the capital city, will reside at a single location, streamlining the process of conducting business.
The GP buildings will house key agencies and offices in the Government’s financial and legal branches including the Board of Inland Revenue, Customs and Excise Division of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of National Security Immigration Division Building, Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs Tower. Parking for staff and visitors will be available at the Government Plaza Parkade.
The GP will not only provide superior office accommodation to boost the morale of employees and adequate parking to reduce hassle and save valuable time, but it will also improve the visual appeal of downtown Port of Spain with an attractive public plaza.
